Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced hippocampal CA1 LTP but normal spatial learning in inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase(A)-deficient mice.
Kisun Jun,Gildon Choi,Sunggu Yang,Kwan Yong Choi,Hyun Kim,Guy C.-K. Chan,Daniel R. Storm,Claudia Albert,Georg W. Mayr,Chang Joong Lee,Hee-Sup Shin +10 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that IP(3)3-kinase(A) may play an important role in the regulation of LTP in hippocampal CA1 region through the generation of IP4, but the enhanced LTB in the hippocampalCA1 does not affect spatial learning and memory.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal structure and enzyme mechanism of Delta 5-3-ketosteroid isomerase from Pseudomonas testosteroni.
TL;DR: Mutational analysis of the two residues and other biochemical data strongly suggest that the hydrogen bond of Tyr14 provides the more significant contribution than that of Asp99 to the requisite 11 kcal/mol of energy for the catalytic power of KSI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crystal Structure of Δ5-3-Ketosteroid Isomerase from Pseudomonas testosteroni in Complex with Equilenin Settles the Correct Hydrogen Bonding Scheme for Transition State Stabilization
Hyun Soo Cho,Nam-Chul Ha,Gildon Choi,Hyun Kim,Donghan Lee,Kyung Seok Oh,Kwang S. Kim,Weon Tae Lee,Kwan Yong Choi,Byung-Ha Oh +9 more
TL;DR: Proton nuclear magnetic resonance analyses of several mutant enzymes indicate that the Tyr14 OH forms a low barrier hydrogen bond with the dienolic oxyanion of the intermediate, indicating that the doubly hydrogen-bonded system over the dyad system.
Journal ArticleDOI
Purine-Based Inhibitors of Inositol-1,4,5-trisphosphate-3-kinase
Young-Tae Chang,Gildon Choi,Yoe-Sik Bae,Matthew Burdett,Ho-Sang Moon,Jae Wook Lee,Nathanael S. Gray,Peter G. Schultz,Laurent Meijer,Sung-Kee Chung,Kwan Yong Choi,Pann-Ghill Suh,Sung Ho Ryu +12 more
TL;DR: A specific inhibitor for IP3K will be a useful tool to study the role of this enzyme in transmembrane signal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Engineering N-glycosylation mutations in IL-12 enhances sustained cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses for DNA immunization.
Sang J. Ha,Jun Chang,Man K. Song,You Suk Suh,Hyun Tak Jin,Chu H. Lee,Gyu Hyun Nam,Gildon Choi,Kwan Yong Choi,Sung H. Lee,Won Bae Kim,Young Chul Sung +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, mutations introduced into N-glycosylation sites (N220 of murine p40 and N222 of human p40) reduced secretion of p40 but not p70.
