TL;DR: During the Covid-19 outbreak in northern Italy, the daily rate of admissions for acute coronary syndrome at 15 hospitals was significantly lower than in previous outbreaks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mean platelet volume and the extent of coronary artery disease: Results from a large prospective study
Giuseppe De Luca,Matteo Santagostino,Gioel Gabrio Secco,Ettore Cassetti,Livio Giuliani,Elena Franchi,Lorenzo Coppo,Sergio Iorio,Luca Venegoni,Elisa Rondano,Gabriele Dell'Era,Claudia Rizzo,Patrizia Pergolini,Francesco Monaco,Giorgio Bellomo,Paolo Marino +15 more
TL;DR: This study showed that MPV is not related to platelet aggregation, the extent of coronary artery disease and carotid IMT, and this parameter cannot be considered as a marker of platelet reactivity or a risk factor for coronary arteries disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Platelet distribution width and the extent of coronary artery disease: Results from a large prospective study
Giuseppe De Luca,Luca Venegoni,Sergio Iorio,Gioel Gabrio Secco,Ettore Cassetti,Monica Verdoia,Alon Schaffer,Lorenzo Coppo,Giorgio Bellomo,Paolo Marino +9 more
TL;DR: This study showed that PDW is not related to the extent of CAD and carotid IMT, and can not be considered as a risk factor for CAD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Uric acid does not affect the prevalence and extent of coronary artery disease. Results from a prospective study
G. De Luca,Gioel Gabrio Secco,Matteo Santagostino,Luca Venegoni,Sergio Iorio,Ettore Cassetti,M. Verdoia,Lorenzo Coppo,C. Di Mario,Giorgio Bellomo,Paolo Marino +10 more
TL;DR: Uric acid is not associated with platelet aggregation, the extent of coronary artery disease and IMT, and waiting for the results of additional large studies, uric acid may not be considered as a risk factor for coronary arteries disease and atherosclerosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
ABSORB Biodegradable Stents Versus Second-Generation Metal Stents: A Comparison Study of 100 Complex Lesions Treated Under OCT Guidance
Alessio Mattesini,Gioel Gabrio Secco,Gianni Dall'Ara,Matteo Ghione,Juan Carlos Rama-Merchan,Alessandro Lupi,Nicola Viceconte,Alistair C. Lindsay,Ranil de Silva,Nicolas Foin,Toru Naganuma,Serafina Valente,Antonio Colombo,Carlo Di Mario +13 more
TL;DR: Based on OCT, the BVS showed similar post-procedure area stenosis, minimal lumen area, and eccentricity index as second-generation DES in complex coronary artery lesions.
