Investigation of SARS-CoV-2 in semen samples and the effects of COVID-19 on male sexual health by using semen analysis and serum male hormone profile: A cross-sectional, pilot study
Mustafa Zafer Temiz,Muhammet Murat Dincer,Ibrahim Hacibey,Ramazan Omer Yazar,Cengiz Celik,Suat Hayri Kucuk,Gizem Alkurt,Levent Doganay,Emrah Yuruk,Ahmet Yaser Muslumanoglu +9 more
TL;DR: In the patients before treatment, decreased serum of T, FSH and LH levels was consistent with acute patient stress due to COVID‐19, and it seems that decreased sperm morphology was associated with the acute fever.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combined Metabolic Activators Accelerates Recovery in Mild-to-Moderate COVID-19.
Ozlem Altay,Ozlem Altay,Muhammad Arif,Xiangyu Li,Hong Yang,Mehtap Aydin,Gizem Alkurt,Woong-Hee Kim,Dogukan Akyol,Cheng Zhang,Cheng Zhang,Gizem Dinler-Doganay,Hasan Turkez,Saeed Shoaie,Saeed Shoaie,Jens Nielsen,Jan Borén,Oktay Olmuscelik,Levent Doganay,Mathias Uhlén,Adil Mardinoglu,Adil Mardinoglu +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a mixture of combined metabolic activators (CMAs) consisting of glutathione and NAD+ precursors was used to restore metabolic function and thus aid the recovery of COVID-19 patients.

Seroprevalence of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Among Health Care Workers from Three Pandemic Hospitals of Turkey
Gizem Alkurt,Ahmet Murt,Zeki Aydin,Ozge Tatli,Nihat Bugra Agaoglu,Arzu Irvem,Mehtap Aydin,Ridvan Karaali,Mustafa Güneş,Batuhan Yesilyurt,Hasan Turkez,Adil Mardinoglu,Adil Mardinoglu,Mehmet Doganay,Filiz Basinoglu,Nurhan Seyahi,Gizem Dinler Doganay,Levent Doganay +17 more
TL;DR: HCWs in high risk group had similar seropositivity rate with no risk group, indicating the efficient implementation of protection measures in the hospitals in Turkey, and might lead to the re-evaluation of infection control and transmission dynamics in hospitals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Does sampling saliva increase detection of SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR? Comparing saliva with oro-nasopharyngeal swabs.
Ozlem Akgun Dogan,Betsi Kose,Nihat Bugra Agaoglu,Jale Yıldız,Gizem Alkurt,Yasemin Kendir Demirkol,Arzu Irvem,Gizem Dinler Doganay,Levent Doganay +8 more
TL;DR: The gold standard method in the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection is the detection of viral RNA in the nasopharyngeal sample by RT-PCR as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Seroprevalence of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among health care workers from three pandemic hospitals of Turkey.
Gizem Alkurt,Ahmet Murt,Zeki Aydin,Ozge Tatli,Ozge Tatli,Nihat Bugra Agaoglu,Arzu Irvem,Mehtap Aydin,Ridvan Karaali,Mustafa Güneş,Batuhan Yesilyurt,Hasan Turkez,Adil Mardinoglu,Adil Mardinoglu,Mehmet Doganay,Filiz Basinoglu,Nurhan Seyahi,Gizem Dinler Doganay,Hamdi Levent Doganay +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the seroprevalence among health care workers (HCWs) in three pandemic hospitals in Istanbul and Kocaeli and found that the highest seropositivity rates were highest for cleaning staff (6%), physicians (4%), nurses (2.2%), radiology technicians (1%).
