Journal ArticleDOI
A novel stealth liposomal topotecan with amlodipine: Apoptotic effect is associated with deletion of intracellular Ca2+ by amlodipine thus leading to an enhanced antitumor activity in leukemia
Xing Li,Guo-Rui Ruan,Wan-Liang Lu,Hai-Yan Hong,Gong-Wen Liang,Yu-Teng Zhang,Yang Liu,Chuan Long,Xi Ma,Lan Yuan,Jiancheng Wang,Xuan Zhang,Qiang Zhang +12 more
TL;DR: In conclusion, apoptotic effect is associated with deletion of intracellular Ca2+ by amlodipine through activation of caspase 8 and then 3/7 activities, which may provide a novel strategy for improving the chemotherapeutic effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced therapeutic effects on the multi‐drug resistant human leukemia cells in vitro and xenograft in mice using the stealthy liposomal vincristine plus quinacrine
Gong-Wen Liang,Wan-Liang Lu,Jin-Wei Wu,Ji-Hui Zhao,Hai-Yan Hong,Chuan Long,Ting Li,Yu-Teng Zhang,Hua Zhang,Jiancheng Wang,Xuan Zhang,Qiang Zhang +11 more
TL;DR: The enhanced anti‐tumor effects of vincristine by quinacrine in the resistant/non‐resistant K562 cells could be because of the direct injury and the potentiating apoptotic effect of vINCristine via activating the initiator caspase‐9 and subsequently the effector caspases‐3, and the long circulatory effect of stealthy liposomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of stealthy liposomal topotecan plus amlodipine on the multidrug‐resistant leukaemia cells in vitro and xenograft in mice
Xianxin Li,W. L. Lu,Gong-Wen Liang,Guo-Rui Ruan,Hai-Yan Hong,Chuan Long,Yu-Teng Zhang,Yan-Rong Liu,Jing Wang,Xiaotian Zhang,Qiang Zhang +10 more
TL;DR: This work combined topotecan and amlodipine together into the stealthy liposomes, in which amlODipine was applied as a MDR reversing agent to overcome the resistance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pharmacokinetics, toxicity of nasal cilia and immunomodulating effects in Sprague–Dawley rats following intranasal delivery of thymopentin with or without absorption enhancers
Jing Wang,Wan-Liang Lu,Gong-Wen Liang,Ke-Chun Wu,Chun-Guang Zhang,Xuan Zhang,Jiancheng Wang,Hua Zhang,Xueqing Wang,Qiang Zhang +9 more
TL;DR: Results from superoxide dismutase activity, maleic dialdehyde, T-lymphocyte subsets (CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ and CD4+/CD8+ ratio) analyses suggest that all the selected enhancers improve the modulating effects of TP 5 in the immunosuppression rats.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Continued Study on the Stealth Liposomal Topotecan Plus Amlodipine: In Vitro and In Vivo Characterization in Non-Resistant Solid Tumors
TL;DR: Stealth liposomal topotecan plus amlodipine showed the optimal anti-tumor activity and inducing apoptotic effect in the in vivo studies, suggesting that it deserves further clinical evaluations.
