Journal ArticleDOI

Tumor-associated lymphangiogenesis in the development of conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma.

TL;DR: This active tumor-associated lymphangiogenesis seems to be associated with an increased risk of local recurrence in patients with CIN and conjunctival invasive SCC and its association with tumor characteristics and recurrence-free survival is unclear.
Journal ArticleDOI

The regularity of laser keratectomy depth in nonmechanical trephination for penetrating keratoplasty.

TL;DR: The regularity of donor trephination depth can be significantly improved by using an automated rotation device instead of a manually guided beam and the improvement of the functional results after suture removal seems to be promoted by automated trephinations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nonmechanical excimer laser penetrating keratoplasty for perforated or predescemetal corneal ulcers.

TL;DR: Nonmechanical trephination is a useful technical refinement of tectonic penetrating keratoplasty à chaud for perforated or deep progressive corneal ulcers and might possibly improve the prognosis of this procedure.
Journal ArticleDOI

Detection of varicella zoster virus DNA and viral antigen in human cornea after herpes zoster ophthalmicus.

TL;DR: The results show that VZV DNA is detectable in human cornea even 8 years after the clinical onset of herpes zoster ophthalmicus and may indicate V zoster virus persistence in a latent form in corneal tissue or reactivation of the virus from an endogenous or exogenous source causing a severe and often recurrent keratitis in the progress of herpes Zoster Ophthalmicu.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlations of the Neuroretinal Rim Area with Ocular and General Parameters in Normal Eyes

TL;DR: The neuroretinal rim as equivalent of the retinal nerve fibers is the target in the evaluation of glaucomatous optic nerve heads and its area was measured using photographs of 234 normal optic disks and correcting the photographic magnification according to Littmann's method.
