Soil seed bank in and between vegetation patches in arid Patagonia, Argentina

TL;DR: Despite the presence of buried seeds of L. divaricata and A. lampa in microenvironment 4 during most of the sampling period, bare interspaces among vegetation patches can be naturally vegetated through sexual reproduction by B. tectorum during years of abundant, higher than long-term, annual precipitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure of vegetation patches in northwestern Patagonia, Argentina

TL;DR: Correlations between greatest and lowest diameters, mound height, maximum plant height and distance to the closest vegetation patch were all significant and conservation of vegetation patches is crucial to prevent increased soil erosion and desertification in the study ecological system.

Ecohydrological conditions of wetlands along a precipitation gradient in Patagonia, Argentina

TL;DR: Agarwal et al. as discussed by the authors caracterizar los tipos and condiciones eco-hidrologicas de humedales a lo largo of a gradiente de precipitacion in el norte de Patagonia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Germination of grasses and shrubs under various water stress and temperature conditions

TL;DR: The tested hypothesis was that seed germination increases with increasing temperatures and water potentials in A. lampa, L. divaricata,L.
