Journal ArticleDOI
Regorafenib overcomes chemotherapeutic multidrug resistance mediated by ABCB1 transporter in colorectal cancer: In vitro and in vivo study.
Yi-Jun Wang,Yun-Kai Zhang,Guan-Nan Zhang,Sweilem B Al Rihani,Meng-Ning Wei,Pranav Gupta,Xiao-Yu Zhang,Suneet Shukla,Suresh V. Ambudkar,Amal Kaddoumi,Zhi Shi,Zhe-Sheng Chen,Zhe-Sheng Chen +12 more
TL;DR: Clinical rationale for combination of conventional chemotherapy and targeted anticancer agents is provided and strategy to reposition one FDA-approved anticancer drug regorafenib to overcome the resistance of another FDA- approved, widely used chemotherapeutic paclitaxel may be a promising direction for the field of adjuvant chemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bafetinib (INNO-406) reverses multidrug resistance by inhibiting the efflux function of ABCB1 and ABCG2 transporters.
Yun-Kai Zhang,Guan-Nan Zhang,Yi-Jun Wang,Bhargav A. Patel,Tanaji T. Talele,Dong-Hua Yang,Zhe-Sheng Chen +6 more
TL;DR: Overall, this study indicated that bafetinib reversed ABCB1- and ABCG2-mediated MDR by blocking the drug efflux function of these transporters.
Journal ArticleDOI
β-elemene, a compound derived from Rhizoma zedoariae, reverses multidrug resistance mediated by the ABCB1 transporter
Huiqin Guo,Guan-Nan Zhang,Yi-Jun Wang,Yun-Kai Zhang,Kamlesh Sodani,Tanaji T. Talele,Charles R. Ashby,Zhe-Sheng Chen +7 more
TL;DR: The in vitro findings indicated that β-elemene potentiates the cytotoxic effects of various antineoplastic drugs in cell lines overexpressing the ABCB1 transporter and that this is due to the inhibition of the efflux component of the ABC B1 transporter.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor PD153035 reverses ABCG2-mediated multidrug resistance in non-small cell lung cancer: In vitro and in vivo.
Guan-Nan Zhang,Yun-Kai Zhang,Yi-Jun Wang,Pranav Gupta,Charles R. Ashby,Saeed Alqahtani,Tongjin Deng,Susan E. Bates,Amal Kaddoumi,John N. D. Wurpel,Yi-Xiong Lei,Zhe-Sheng Chen +11 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the combination of topotecan and PD153035 could be a promising therapeutic strategy to attenuate the resistance to topOTecan, as well as other anticancer drugs, mediated by the overexpression of ABCG2.
Journal ArticleDOI
Semi-synthetic ocotillol analogues as selective ABCB1-mediated drug resistance reversal agents
Yun-Kai Zhang,Hengyuan Zhang,Guan-Nan Zhang,Yi-Jun Wang,Rishil J. Kathawala,Rui Si,Bhargav A. Patel,Jinyi Xu,Zhe-Sheng Chen +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that ORA reverseABCB1-mediated MDR by competitively inhibiting the ABCB1 drug efflux function by reverse the resistance to paclitaxel and vincristine in ABCB 1-overexpressing SW620/Ad300 and HEK/ABCB 1 cells.
