Early contact fatigue evaluation of gear using eddy current pulsed thermography

TL;DR: In this article, the heat flow can be tracked by using optical flow method and the transient thermal behavior among areas where the gear flank is suffered contact fatigue and not suffered fatigue, and the degree of fatigue is quantified across a thermal image sequence.

Automatic segmentation method of defects in pulsed eddy current thermal imaging

TL;DR: An automatic segmentation method of defects in pulsed eddy current thermal imaging is put forward on the basis of physical characteristics of ECPT defect behaviors as discussed by the authors, where a defect area radiates out more energy and is mapped onto an image histogram, and defects will be distributed on an area close to the ending of the image histograms and percentage is small relative to the background.
Journal ArticleDOI

Advanced Sensor Technologies for Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation and Structural Health Monitoring

TL;DR: This paper presents a meta-modelling framework for smart materials and structural engineering that can be applied to smart grids, including smart grids for smart cities.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Visual detection of subsurface defects using enhanced magneto-optic imaging system

TL;DR: In this article, an enhanced magneto-optic (MO) imaging system is presented to detect the invisible and buried subsurface flaws in metallic specimens, and the choice of the MO thin films, the design of the magnetic excitation device and the development of the image processing approaches are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Magneto-Optic Microscope Technology for Nondestructive Testing

TL;DR: The magneto-optic (MO) microscope technology for non-destructive testing is detailedly introduced in this article, which includes two different MO imaging systems to test the buried subsurface defects in metallic and magnetic specimens.
