Design and simulation of very low insertion loss arrayed waveguide grating using full-vectorial beam propagation method with circular cylindrical coordinates

TL;DR: In this article, a radial finite-difference beam propagation method with circular cylindrical coordinates is proposed for simulation of radiated waveguide structures, and theoretical design and simulation of low insertion loss arrays with couplers of tapered arrayed waveguides are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Active coherent control of nanoscale light confinement: Modulation of plasmonic modes and position of hotspots for surface-enhanced Raman scattering detection

TL;DR: In this article, a new strategy is proposed for fabricating a plasmonic doublestacked nanocone (DSC) nanostructure, which can induce the deep modulation of electromagnetic field interactions on the nanoscale for positioning hotspots, and this generation of enhanced fields is important in many optical applications.
Book ChapterDOI

Fast Geometric Characterization of Gold Nanorod Ensembles Based on Inverse Scattering Spectroscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a measurement method for gold nanorods (NRs) based on gold metrology standards and gold NPs, which are typical noble metal nanoparticles that are widely used nowadays in various applications, such as catalysis, medical diagnosis and therapy, and bio-sensing.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional display based on volume holographic kinoform in photopolymer

TL;DR: In this article, a volume holographic photopolymer is used for high-resolution 3D display, where the pure-phase wavefront of a 3D object is generated and uploaded by a phase-only spatial light modulator.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Adenine detection by photonic crystal fiber based surface enhanced Raman scattering probe

TL;DR: In this paper, a photonic crystal fiber (PCF) based SERS probe is presented, which has the new advantages of simplicity in fabrication, better light confinement and increased light-analyte interaction volume.
