Nanostructured catalysts for electrochemical water splitting: current state and prospects

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the fundamentals of water electrolysis, current popular electrocatalysts developed for cathodic hydrogen evolution reaction and anodic oxygen evolution reaction (OER), and strategies to improve catalytic activity, long-term durability and endurance to electrochemical erosion.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nanocellulose: Extraction and application

TL;DR: In this paper, the background of nanocellulose originated from lignocellulosic biomass and the typical extraction methods and general applications are summarized, in which the nanocellulate extraction methods related to ball milling are mainly introduced.
Journal ArticleDOI

Catalytic steam reforming of biomass tar: Prospects and challenges

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of catalytic steam reforming of tar derived from biomass, tar formation, tar properties and catalytic reaction mechanism are also introduced, and prospects and challenges are summarized.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of the thickness of the Pt film coated on a counter electrode on the performance of a dye-sensitized solar cell

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of the thickness and morphology of a Pt film coated on a counter electrode on the performance of a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultrathin nanoflakes of cobalt–manganese layered double hydroxide with high reversibility for asymmetric supercapacitor

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of Co 2+ /Mn 2+ molar ratio on supercapacitive performance is systematically investigated and it is found that the presence of Mn(OH) 6 unit in CoMn LDH offers an excellent reversibility as well as highly electrochemical activity for super-capacitor application.
