TL;DR: In this paper, the InAs-InGaAs quantum-dot vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) were reported. But the performance of the VCSEL was limited by the fact that the metal contacts were deposited on a topmost p/sup +/-GaAs contact layer and on the bottom surface of the n/sup ±GaAs substrate.
