Journal ArticleDOI

Prevention by arginine glutamate of the carcinogenicity of acetamide in rats.

TL;DR: The findings are consistent with, but not necessarily related to, the hypothesis that acetamide is carcinogenic to the liver because of chronic intracellular liberation of ammonia, but an effort to demonstrate the possible carcinogenic effect of chronic treatment with ammonium ions was equivocal.
Journal ArticleDOI

8-Hydroxyquinoline: Chronic toxicity and inhibitory effect on the carcinogenicity of N-2-fluorenylacetamide☆

TL;DR: 8-Hydroxyquinoline reduced the toxicity of N -2-fluorenylacetamide and led to a lower incidence of hepatic malignancies than when the carcinogen was fed alone in a time-limited test series.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of the toxicity and carcinogenicity of N-2-fluorenylacetamide by acetanilide☆

TL;DR: A large molar excess of acetanilide inhibited the toxicity and prevented or delayed the carcinogenesis from N -2-fluorenylacetamide in young male Fischer rats.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of isomers of acetotoluidide and aminobenzoic acid on the toxicity and carcinogenicity of N-2-fluorenylacetamide.

TL;DR: These selective inhibitors of the toxicity and carcinogenicity of N-2-fluorenylacetamide provide new methods for the study of the underlying mechanisms.
