Effects of Diffusion on Free Precession in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Experiments

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of diffusion on free precession in nuclear resonance has been studied, and a new scheme for measuring the transverse relaxation time is described, which largely circumvents the diffusion effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Steady-state free precession in nuclear magnetic resonance

TL;DR: In this paper, a steady-state free precession technique for observing nuclear magnetic resonance is described, and a mathematical analysis is presented for certain special conditions, and initial experiments verifying the results of this analysis are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diffusion and nuclear spin relaxation in water

TL;DR: In this paper, the diffusion coefficient and the spin lattice relaxation time of protons in ordinary water have been measured in the temperature range 0-100\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}C using nuclear magnetic resonance free precession techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of Xe 129 in Natural Xenon

TL;DR: The spin-lattice relaxation time was measured as a function of temperature and pressure in the liquid and the gas, respectively, and it was shown that the relaxation time is independent of the external field.
