miR-216b suppresses tumor growth and invasion by targeting KRAS in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

TL;DR: The present study found that miR-216b was downregulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cell lines and specimens and demonstrated that it can bind to the 3′ untranslated region (UTR) of KRAS and inhibit expression of the KRAS protein.
Journal ArticleDOI

MiR-185 Targets the DNA Methyltransferases 1 and Regulates Global DNA Methylation in human glioma

TL;DR: To determine how DNA methylation is modified in the genome of primary glioma, Methyl-DNA immunoprecipitation and Nimblegen CpG promoter microarrays were used and may provide new insights into the epigenetic pathogenesis of human gliomas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interaction of hsa-miR-381 and glioma suppressor LRRC4 is involved in glioma growth.

TL;DR: By regulating LRRC4, hsa-miR-381 increased the in vitro and in vivo proliferation of glioma cells, and this action was associated with decreased inhibition of MEK/ERK and AKT signaling.
Journal ArticleDOI

The microRNA-processing enzymes: Drosha and Dicer can predict prognosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma

TL;DR: The expression profiles of the two most important enzymes of the miRNA machinery, Drosha and Dicer, which were closely correlated with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and patient survival were investigated to hypothesise that the expression levels of Dicer and Drosha could be used as potential prognostic biomarkers for NPC.
