Generation of the self-similar parabolic pulses by designing comb-like profiled dispersion fiber based on alternately arranged single-mode fibers and dispersion-shifted fibers

TL;DR: Based on the nonlinear Schrodinger equation and the linearly chirped parabolic pulse generation in the dispersion decreasing fiber with normal dispersion, a novel scheme for the generation of the self-similar parabolic pulses via a comb-like profiled dispersion fiber, with normal group-velocity dispersion has been proposed and the corresponding model is established as discussed by the authors.

Numerical study on adiabatic compression of ultrashort fundamental solitons in an erbium-doped fiber amplifier

TL;DR: In this paper, the compression and amplification of fundamental solitons in an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) were investigated by using the numerical method, and the results showed that the unchirped fundamental solITons can be compressed and amplified by selecting an appropriate length of the EDFA when the peak gain of the EDF is fixed, and compression and amplifyation satisfy the adiabatic condition.
