Activation of grapefruit derived biochar by its peel extracts and its performance for tetracycline removal.
TL;DR: A novel adsorbent derived from grapefruit peel (GP) based biochar (GPBC) was synthesized by combined carbonization of GP and subsequent activation by GP extracts, granting GPBC-20 more abundant surface functional groups, which exerts the adsorbents superior performance for tetracycline adsorption.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radical assisted iron impregnation on preparing sewage sludge derived Fe/carbon as highly stable catalyst for heterogeneous Fenton reaction
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of H2O2/Fe2+ on zeta potential, particle size, morphology and texture structure of the pretreated sludge precursors and their corresponding influence on the carbonized materials were systematically evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hydrothermal carbon nanospheres assisted-fabrication of PVDF ultrafiltration membranes with improved hydrophilicity and antifouling performance
Haixiang Yu,Lin Gu,Lin Gu,Sifan Wu,Dong Guangxia,Qiao Xingbo,Kai Zhang,Xiangyu Lu,Haifeng Wen,Daofang Zhang +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a composite polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration membrane containing 0.1-0.6% of synthesized hydrothermal carbon nanospheres (CNS) was prepared with phase inversion method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation of porous biochar by urine assisted pyrolysis of sewage sludge and their application for Eriochrome Black T adsorption
TL;DR: In this article, urine was used as a novel activator for sludge activation and porous carbon preparation and the influence of pyrolysis temperature in each stage and urine to sludge ratio on properties of carbon was systematically investigated by using thermogravimetric analysis, N2 adsorption-desorption technique and transmission electron microscope.
Journal ArticleDOI
Preparation of Sludge-Derived Activated Carbon by Fenton Activation and the Adsorption of Eriochrome Black T
TL;DR: Sludge-derived activated carbon was prepared by Fenton activation and calcination, and used as adsorbent to eliminate Eriochrome Black T (EBT) dye from aqueous media and revealed that the adsorption of EBT onto SAC was naturally endothermic and spontaneous.
