Journal ArticleDOI
Separation of aromatic/aliphatic hydrocarbons by photo-modified poly(acrylonitrile) membranes
TL;DR: In this paper, the application of the pore-filling concept yielded aromatic hydrocarbon selective composite membranes with an average pore size of about 9 nm for the development of pervaporation separation phases prepared in situ by photo-initiated graft copolymerization in water.
Journal ArticleDOI
Membranes based on polyelectrolyte–surfactant complexes for methanol separation
TL;DR: In this article, a polyelectrolyte-surfactant complex (PELSC) membrane was prepared by the interaction of the anionic groups of Na-CS or sulfoethyl cellulose (SEC) with different types of cationic surfactants.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface and permeability properties of membranes from polyelectrolyte complexes and polyelectrolyte surfactant complexes
TL;DR: In this article, the surface properties of two polyelectrolyte complex (PELC) membranes based on polyanionic sulfoethylcellulose (SEC) and polycationic poly[dimethyl(diallyl)ammonium chloride] (pDMDAAC) or cationic benzyl(dodecyl)dimethylammonium (BDDDMAC) were studied by means of contact angle measurements in different media, XPS photoelectron spectroscopy and tangential streaming potential measurements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface Characterization of Polyelectrolyte Complex Membranes Based on Sodium Cellulose Sulfate and Various Cationic Components
TL;DR: In this article, the performance and selectivities of polyelectrolyte complex membranes based on sodium cellulose sulfate as a polyanion and various types of cationic components -poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride), poly(ethyleneimine hydrochloride) as polycations; or (2-(N -undecylamidocarbonyl)-ethyl)-dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride, N -dodecylpyridinium chloride as cationi surfactants -were prepared.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surface characterization of polyelectrolyte complex membranes based on sodium cellulose sulfate and poly(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride)
TL;DR: In this paper, the surface properties of polyelectrolyte complex membranes based on sodium cellulose sulfate and poly(dimethyldially-lammonium chloride) were studied by means of XPS photoelectron spectroscopy (ESCA), contact angle and tangential streaming potential measurements.
