Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems

This paper studies a number of quantized feedback design problems for linear systems. We consider the case where quantizers are static (memoryless). The common aim of these design problems is to stabilize the given system or to achieve certain performance with the coarsest quantization density. Our main discovery is that the classical sector bound approach is nonconservative for studying these design problems. Consequently, we are able to convert many quantized feedback design problems to well-known robust control problems with sector bound uncertainties. In particular, we derive the coarsest quantization densities for stabilization for multiple-input-multiple-output systems in both state feedback and output feedback cases; and we also derive conditions for quantized feedback control for quadratic cost and H/sub /spl infin// performances.

Review of fractional PID controller

This article is concerned with the event-triggered synchronization of Lur'e systems subject to actuator saturation. Aiming at reducing control costs, a switching-memory-based event-trigger (SMBET) scheme, which allows a switching between the sleeping interval and the memory-based event-trigger (MBET) interval, is first presented. In consideration of the characteristics of SMBET, a piecewise-defined but continuous looped-functional is newly constructed, under which the requirement of positive definiteness and symmetry on some Lyapunov matrices is dropped within the sleeping interval. Then, a hybrid Lyapunov method (HLM), which bridges the gap between the continuous-time Lyapunov theory (CTLT) and the discrete-time Lyapunov theory (DTLT), is used to make the local stability analysis of the closed-loop system. Meanwhile, using a combination of inequality estimation techniques and the generalized sector condition, two sufficient local synchronization criteria and a codesign algorithm for the controller gain and triggering matrix are developed. Furthermore, two optimization strategies are, respectively, put forward to enlarge the estimated domain of attraction (DoA) and the allowable upper bound of sleeping intervals on the premise of ensuring local synchronization. Finally, a three-neuron neural network and the classical Chua's circuit are used to carry out some comparison analyses and to display the advantages of the designed SMBET strategy and the constructed HLM, respectively. Also, an application to image encryption is provided to substantiate the feasibility of the obtained local synchronization results.

A Switching Memory-Based Event-Trigger Scheme for Synchronization of Lur'e Systems With Actuator Saturation: A Hybrid Lyapunov Method.

This paper addresses the bipartite leader-follower synchronization (BLFS) of cooperation-competition neural networks (CCNNs) via sampled-data (SD) control. First, the directed signed graph (SG) theory is applied to describe the cooperation and competition interactions, and thus, an appropriate mathematical model is constructed for such kind of multiple CCNNs. Based on the coordinate transformation technique, the main challenges encountered from the Laplacian matrix of the directed SG are circumvented. Then, a tractable error system can be established in the presence of SD control. Two interval-scheduled looped-functions are well-structured by relaxing the requirements of positive definiteness and continuity, respectively. In combination with discrete Lyapunov theory and some inequality techniques, some less conservative criteria are derived to guarantee the BLFS of CCNNs. Compared with the previous analysis methods, a smaller coupling strength or a larger sampling interval can be permitted on the basis of the developed results. Finally, two examples are presented to verify the effectiveness and advantages of the obtained results. 

Sampled-Data-Based Bipartite Leader-Follower Synchronization of Cooperation-Competition Neural Networks via Interval-Scheduled Looped-Functions

This note focuses on the multi-objective filtering issue for hybrid stochastic systems based on an extended stochastic dissipativity property. When the asynchronous phenomenon happens between the plant mode jumping and filter mode jumping as well as inaccuracies or uncertainties occur in the filters, for obtaining the extended stochastic dissipativity of the filtering error system, a resilient and asynchronous filter is designed. Subsequently, the sufficient conditions of extended stochastic dissipativity for the resilient and asynchronous filtering error system are established. Finally, the method of calculating the filter gains is given based on the solvability of the convex optimization problem.

A resilient asynchronous filter design for hybrid stochastic systems based on an extended stochastic dissipativity

This paper studies the asynchronous sliding mode control for nonlinear Markov jump systems (NMJSs), whose transition probabilities is piecewise-constant and subjected to the persistent dwell-time (PDT) switching rule. By resorting to the interval type-2 Takagi-Sugeno (IT2 T-S) fuzzy set theory, the nonlinearity and uncertainty features of the investigated systems are modeled. Taking the uncertain membership functions (MFs) of IT2 T-S fuzzy systems into consideration, the non-parallel distributed compensation strategy is employed for designing the MFs of the controller such that them do not need to be obtained in time. Furthermore, in view of the difficulty of accurately acquiring the mode of NMJSs with complex transition probabilities, the hidden Markov model is employed to provide a detected mode for constructing the sliding mode law. Afterwards, a novel fuzzy sliding surface is proposed, and an asynchronous IT2-fuzzy-model-based sliding mode control law is designed for forcing the closed-loop systems to move on the predefined sliding surface. Thereafter, a novel two-mode-dependent Lyapunov-like function is conceived for the studied systems, where modes of NMJSs and transition probabilities are permitted to change simultaneously. Through applying an improved technique to handle the parametric matrix inequalities, some less-conservative sufficient conditions in the form of linear matrix inequality are obtained for ensuring the stochastic exponentially asymptotical stability of the sliding mode with <inline-formula xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"><tex-math notation="LaTeX">$H_\infty$</tex-math></inline-formula> performance. Finally, a mass-spring mechanical system is presented to substantiate the validity of the proposed main results.
