Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial hydrogen production from sweet potato starch residue

TL;DR: A high yield of hydrogen of 7.0 mol H2/mol glucose from the starch remaining in the starch residue was attained in two-step repeated batch cultures containing C. butyricum and E. aerogenes, and by Rhodobacter sp.
Journal ArticleDOI

H2 production from starch by a mixed culture of Clostridium butyricum and Enterobacter aerogenes

TL;DR: A mixed continuous culture of Clostridium butyricum and Enterobacter aerogenes removed O2 in a reactor and produced H2 from starch with yield of more than 2 mol H2/mol glucose without any reducing agents in the medium.

H 2 production from starch by a mixed culture of Clostridium butyricum and Enterobacter aerogenes

TL;DR: In this article, a mixed continuous culture of Clostridium butyricum and Enterobacter aerogenes removed O2 in a reactor and produced H2 from starch with yield of more than 2 mol H2/mol glucose without any reducing agents in the medium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characteristics of hydrogen production by aciduric Enterobacter aerogenes strain HO-39

TL;DR: An aciduric facultative anaerobe with a hydrogen-producing ability was identified and identified as Enterobacter aerogenes strain HO-39 in this paper, which was able to grow at acidic pH of 3.3 aerobically and at 4.0 anaerobically.
Journal ArticleDOI

H2 production from starch by a mixed culture of Clostridium butyricum and Rhodobacter sp. M[h]19

TL;DR: A photosynthetic bacterium having ability to produce H2 from acetic, butyric and lactic acids, Rhodobacter sp.
