STAT6-Deficient Mice Exhibit Normal Induction of Murine AIDS and Expression of Immunoglobulin E following Infection with LP-BM5 Murine Leukemia Viruses

TL;DR: It is concluded that B cells from mice with MAIDS activate unique IL-4- and STAT6-independent signaling pathways for B-cell activation and differentiation, including immunoglobulin class switch-recombination to IgE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oncogenic Myc translocations are independent of chromosomal location and orientation of the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that a transgene containing the Ig heavy chain constant region locus, inserted into five different chromosomal locations, can undergo translocations involving Myc and these translocations are able to generate plasmacytomas in each transgenic line.
Journal ArticleDOI

Functional deficiency in IL-7 caused by an N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea-induced point mutation.

TL;DR: In vitro treatment of B-cell progenitors from mutant mice with IL-7 induced them to differentiate into pre-BII cells, which provides a new model for studying the functions ofIL-7 on a pure C57BL/6 background.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic control of B- and T-lymphocyte abnormalities of NZB mice in crosses with B10.D2 mice.

TL;DR: There was a common genetic influence on plasma cell frequency, IgM secretion per plasma cell and production of thymocyte-binding antibodies which was distinct from the genes governing the ability to generate a cytotoxic T lymphocyte response to H-2-compatible cells.
