Journal ArticleDOI

Excitation of collective nuclear states by fast particles

TL;DR: In this article, the elastic and inelastic scattering of a fast particle by a vibrating nucleus is discussed in the semicalssical approximation, and the effect of the vibrations can be described by an effective deformed optical potential which is axially symmetric about the incident direction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Signatures of [Lambda]-[Sigma] mixing in the magnetic moments of hypernuclei

TL;DR: The [pi][sup +]/[pi][Sup [minus]] ratio in hypernuclear weak decay as another probe of the degree of [Lambda]-[Sigma] mixing is mentioned.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Story of Spin.

Journal ArticleDOI

The S matrix for absorptive Hamiltonians

TL;DR: In this article, the existence of a matrix S such that S S = 1 in the presence of absorption is demonstrated and a dispersion relation for forward seattering is derived and the properties of the reactance matrices K and K are obtained.
