The production of narrow Σ-hypernuclear states

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the S matrix for such a process vanishes at the complex energy of such a bound state, and general properties of S matrix in the presence of absorption were derived.

Physics and the APS in 1980

- 01 Apr 1981 -
TL;DR: The last hundred years have witnessed an astonishing growth in our understanding of the physical universe as mentioned in this paper, and it is no exaggeration to say that this development is an incomparably profound achievement of the human mind.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the second-order spin-orbit interaction for proton-nucleus scattering☆

TL;DR: In this paper, an approximate evaluation of the KMT second-order multiple scattering terms which give rise to an additional spin-orbit interaction has been made, and it is found that this contribution is sufficiently large to call into doubt the conclusion that the kMT theory is not able to explain the experimental polarization observed for protons in the 500 MeV range incident on nuclei.
