Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of a selective neutrophil elastase inhibitor on mortality and ventilator-free days in patients with increased extravascular lung water: a post hoc analysis of the PiCCO Pulmonary Edema Study.
Takashi Tagami,Takashi Tagami,Ryoichi Tosa,Mariko Omura,Hidetada Fukushima,Tadashi Kaneko,Tomoyuki Endo,Hiroshi Rinka,Akira Murai,Junko Yamaguchi,Kazuhide Yoshikawa,Nobuyuki Saito,Hideaki Uzu,Yoichi Kase,Makoto Takatori,Hiroo Izumino,Toshiaki Nakamura,Ryutarou Seo,Yasuhide Kitazawa,Manabu Sugita,Hiroyuki Takahashi,Yuichi Kuroki,Takayuki Irahara,Takashi Kanemura,Hiroyuki Yokota,Shigeki Kushimoto +25 more
TL;DR: Although sivelestat did not significantly affect 28-day mortality, this treatment may have the potential to increase VFDs in ARDS patients with increased extravascular lung water.
Journal ArticleDOI
Early-phase changes of extravascular lung water index as a prognostic indicator in acute respiratory distress syndrome patients
Takashi Tagami,Takashi Tagami,Toshiaki Nakamura,Shigeki Kushimoto,Ryoichi Tosa,Akihiro Watanabe,Tadashi Kaneko,Hidetada Fukushima,Hiroshi Rinka,Daisuke Kudo,Hideaki Uzu,Akira Murai,Makoto Takatori,Hiroo Izumino,Yoichi Kase,Ryutarou Seo,Hiroyuki Takahashi,Yasuhide Kitazawa,Junko Yamaguchi,Manabu Sugita,Yuichi Kuroki,Takashi Kanemura,Kenichiro Morisawa,Nobuyuki Saito,Takayuki Irahara,Hiroyuki Yokota +25 more
TL;DR: Decrease in EVL Wi during the first 48 h of ARDS may be associated with 28-day survival, and Serial EVLWi measurements may be useful for understanding the pathophysiologic conditions in ARDS patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive Value of Leakage Signs for Pure Brain Contusional Hematoma Expansion.
Kimihiko Orito,Masaru Hirohata,Yukihiko Nakamura,Masafumi Yamamoto,Nobuyuki Takeshige,Takachika Aoki,Gohsuke Hattori,Kiyohiko Sakata,Yasuharu Takeuchi,Hideaki Uzu,Osamu Takasu,Toshi Abe,Yusuke Uchiyama,Motohiro Morioka +13 more
TL;DR: Leakage signs had high sensitivity in the prediction of contusional hematoma expansion and were significantly associated with delayed neurological deterioration and the necessity of surgical removal.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influenza A with hemorrhagic shock and encephalopathy syndrome in an adult: A case report.
Masafumi Fukuda,Tomohiro Yoshida,Mariko Moroki,Nobuhisa Hirayu,Masakazu Nabeta,Atsuo Nakamura,Hideaki Uzu,Osamu Takasu +7 more
TL;DR: Drastic courses such as that in the case of an adult patient with HSES can follow influenza infections even in adults, which occurred after influenza A infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Leakage sign for acute subdural hematoma in clinical treatment
Masafumi Yamamoto,Kimihiko Orito,Yukihiko Nakamura,Nobuyuki Takeshige,Munetake Yoshitomi,Yasuharu Takeuchi,Hideaki Uzu,Osamu Takasu,Toshi Abe,Shuichi Tanoue,Yuusuke Uchiyama,Motohiro Morioka +11 more
TL;DR: Evaluating the incidence of “leakage” using computed tomography angiography in patients with ASDH indicated that the leakage sign is a sensitive predictor of hematoma expansion and poor outcomes in ASDH.
