Journal ArticleDOI

Human organic anion transporters and human organic cation transporters mediate renal antiviral transport.

TL;DR: It is suggested that hOAT1 and hOCT1 mediate renal ACV and GCV transport, whereas h oAT1, hO AT2, h OAT3, and hoAT4 mediate kidneys AZT transport, and L-valyl ester appears to be important in differential substrate recognition between hOat1 and oAT3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of Methotrexate Transport and Its Drug Interactions with Human Organic Anion Transporters

TL;DR: It was predicted that hOAT3 is the site of drug interactions between methotrexate and salicylate, phenylbutazone, indomethacin, and probenecid in vivo andKinetic analysis of inhibitory effects of these drugs on hOat3-mediated methot Rexate uptake revealed that these inhibitions were competitive.
Journal ArticleDOI

Human organic anion transporters and human organic cation transporters mediate renal transport of prostaglandins

TL;DR: Considering the localization of these transporters, the results suggest that PGE(2) and PGF(2 alpha) transport in the basolateral membrane of the proximal tubule is mediated by multiple pathways including hOAT1,hOAT2, hOat3, and hOCT2, whereas that in the apical side is mediatedby hO AT4.
Journal ArticleDOI

Urate transport via human PAH transporter hOAT1 and its gene structure

TL;DR: HOAT1 is not responsible for FJGN in the two sisters examined in this study, and the inhibition profiles of uricosuric and antiuricOSuric agents are defined.
