Journal ArticleDOI
Multicenter retrospective study of endoscopic ultrasound-guided biliary drainage for malignant biliary obstruction in Japan.
Kazumichi Kawakubo,Hiroyuki Isayama,Hironari Kato,Takao Itoi,Hiroshi Kawakami,Keiji Hanada,Hirotoshi Ishiwatari,Ichiro Yasuda,Hirofumi Kawamoto,Fumihide Itokawa,Masaki Kuwatani,Tomohiro Iiboshi,Tsuyoshi Hayashi,Shinpei Doi,Yousuke Nakai +14 more
TL;DR: Endoscopic ultrasound‐guided biliary drainage is considered to be an effective salvage procedure for failed endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in patients with unresectable malignant biliary obstruction.
Journal ArticleDOI
High and low negative pressure suction techniques in EUS-guided fine-needle tissue acquisition by using 25-gauge needles: a multicenter, prospective, randomized, controlled trial.
Taiki Kudo,Hiroshi Kawakami,Tsuyoshi Hayashi,Ichiro Yasuda,Tsuyoshi Mukai,Hiroyuki Inoue,Akio Katanuma,Kazumichi Kawakubo,Hirotoshi Ishiwatari,Shinpei Doi,Reiko Yamada,Hiroyuki Maguchi,Hiroyuki Isayama,Tomoko Mitsuhashi,Naoya Sakamoto +14 more
TL;DR: Biopsy procedures that combine the E US-FNA with HNP techniques are superior to EUS-F NA with NNP procedures for tissue acquisition, and the adequacy of tissue acquisition and the accuracy of histological diagnoses made by using the EUS -FNA technique with H NP are found.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of the safety and diagnostic accuracy of preoperative endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration for resectable pancreatic cancer on clinical performance
Taiki Kudo,Hiroshi Kawakami,Masaki Kuwatani,Kazunori Eto,Shuhei Kawahata,Yoko Abe,Manabu Onodera,Nobuyuki Ehira,Hiroaki Yamato,Shin Haba,Kazumichi Kawakubo,Naoya Sakamoto +11 more
TL;DR: Data indicate that the use of EUS-FNA did not influence RFS or OS, nor did it increase the risk of peritoneal recurrence, and in patients with resectable pancreatic cancer, preoperative EUS -FNA is a safe and accurate diagnostic method.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single‐step simultaneous side‐by‐side placement of a self‐expandable metallic stent with a 6‐Fr delivery system for unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction: a feasibility study
Kazumichi Kawakubo,Hiroshi Kawakami,Masaki Kuwatani,Taiki Kudo,Yoko Abe,Shuhei Kawahata,Kimitoshi Kubo,Yoshimasa Kubota,Naoya Sakamoto +8 more
TL;DR: The recently developed 6‐Fr delivery systems could facilitate a single‐step simultaneous side‐by‐side placement through the accessory channel of the duodenoscope for SEMS placement for the management of unresectable malignant hilar biliary obstruction.
Journal ArticleDOI
CTNNB1 mutational analysis of solid-pseudopapillary neoplasms of the pancreas using endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration and next-generation deep sequencing
Yoshimasa Kubota,Hiroshi Kawakami,Mitsuteru Natsuizaka,Kazumichi Kawakubo,Katsuji Marukawa,Taiki Kudo,Yoko Abe,Kimitoshi Kubo,Masaki Kuwatani,Yutaka Hatanaka,Tomoko Mitsuhashi,Yoshihiro Matsuno,Naoya Sakamoto +12 more
TL;DR: Mutational analysis of CTNNB1 by NGS is feasible and was achieved using SPN samples obtained by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration, and a single-base-pair missense mutations in exon 3 of CTNF were observed in all 7 SPNs and in 1 of 11 PNET samples.
