Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular design of flotation collectors: A recent progress.

TL;DR: To design hydrophobic groups, the hydrophilic-hydrophobic balance parameters have been extensively used as criteria and the replacement of aryl group with aliphatic group, reduction of carbon numbers, introduction of oxygen atom and addition of trisiloxane to the tail terminal have been proved to be useful approaches for adjusting the surface activity of collectors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Removal of basic dye (methylene blue) from aqueous solution using zeolite synthesized from electrolytic manganese residue

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of various experimental parameters, such as contact time, initial MB concentration, temperature and pH on the adsorption capacity of EMRZ was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigations on reverse cationic flotation of iron ore by using a Gemini surfactant: Ethane-1,2-bis(dimethyl-dodecyl-ammonium bromide)

TL;DR: In this paper, a Gemini surfactant, ethane-1,2-bis(dimethyl-dodecyl-ammonium bromide) (EBAB), was introduced as a collector for reverse cationic flotation separation of quartz from magnetite, and its adsorption mechanisms on the two minerals and air/water interface were also investigated by FTIR spectra, zeta potential, density functional theory (DFT) calculation and surface tension.
Journal ArticleDOI

The DFT study of cyclohexyl hydroxamic acid as a collector in scheelite flotation

TL;DR: In this article, cyclohexyl hydroxamic acid (CHA) was investigated as a new collector for scheelite flotation by the Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculation, mineral flotation tests, adsorption measurement and zeta potential determination.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation on the selectivity of N-((hydroxyamino)-alkyl) alkylamide surfactants for scheelite/calcite flotation separation

TL;DR: In this article, novel amide-hydroxamic acid surfactants, such as (N-(hydroxyamino)-6-oxohexyl) benzamide (NHOB), N-(6-(hydroxamino)6-oxyhexyl)-decanamide (Decanamide), NHOO, NHOD and NOBO, were introduced as flotation collectors for selective separation of scheelite from calicite.
