Journal ArticleDOI
Association of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons metabolites and risk of diabetes in coke oven workers.
Liangle Yang,Kai Yan,Dan Zeng,Xuefeng Lai,Xuguang Chen,Qin Fang,Huan Guo,Tangchun Wu,Xiaomin Zhang +8 more
TL;DR: It is found that elevated urinary 4-hydroxyphenanthrene (4-OHPh) was significantly associated, in a dose-dependent manner, with increased risk of diabetes, and the risk assessment of diabetes related to occupational PAHs exposure should take working years and BMI into consideration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Serum miRNAs as predictive and preventive biomarker for pre-clinical hepatocellular carcinoma.
Liang Li,Jianguo Chen,Xin Chen,Jing Tang,Huan Guo,Xiaofeng Wang,Ji Qian,Guijuan Luo,Fangping He,Xiaomei Lu,Yibo Ding,Yingchen Yang,Wentao Huang,Guojun Hou,Xi-Meng Lin,Qin Ouyang,Hengyu Li,Ruoyu Wang,Feng Jiang,Rui Pu,Jianhua Lu,Mudan Jin,Yexiong Tan,Frank J. Gonzalez,Guangwen Cao,Meng-Chao Wu,Hao Wen,Tangchun Wu,Li Jin,Lei Chen,Lei Chen,Hongyang Wang,Hongyang Wang +32 more
TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors collected time-series and 6 months interval-serum samples from chronic hepatitis B virus infected (CHB) patient cohorts at the premalignant or pre-clinical stages (average 6 months prior to clinical diagnosis) and CHB patients that did not develop cancer, and measured circulating miRNAs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased levels of lead in the blood and frequencies of lymphocytic micronucleated binucleated cells among workers from an electronic-waste recycling site.
Qian Wang,An M He,Bo Gao,Lan Chen,Qiang Z. Yu,Huan Guo,Bin J Shi,Pu Jiang,Zeng Y Zhang,Ping L Li,Ying G Sheng,Mo J Fu,Chun T Wu,Min X Chen,Jing Yuan +14 more
TL;DR: Air concentrations of the toxic metals at e-waste and control sites were analyzed using inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry and a history of working with e-Waste was a predictor for increased blood lead levels and MNBNCs frequencies in the subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Different physical activity subtypes and risk of metabolic syndrome in middle-aged and older Chinese people.
Mu Chen,Meian He,Xinwen Min,An Pan,Xiaomin Zhang,Ping Yao,Xiulou Li,Yuewei Liu,Jing Yuan,Weihong Chen,Li Zhou,Weimin Fang,Yuan Liang,Youjie Wang,Xiaoping Miao,Mingjian Lang,Peng Zhang,Dongfeng Li,Huan Guo,Handong Yang,Frank B. Hu,Tangchun Wu +21 more
TL;DR: Jogging, tai chi and dancing are associated with a significantly lower risk of having MetS in middle-aged and older Chinese, and future intervention studies should consider the role of jogging,Tai Chi and dancing in preventing MetS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between exposure to arsenic, nickel, cadmium, selenium, and zinc and fasting blood glucose levels.
Zhaoyang Li,Yali Xu,Zhijun Huang,Yue Wei,Jian Hou,Tengfei Long,Fei Wang,Hua Hu,Yanying Duan,Huan Guo,Xiaomin Zhang,Xiang Chen,Hong Yuan,Tangchun Wu,Minxue Shen,Meian He +15 more
TL;DR: Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) statistical method was used to estimate the potential joint associations between As, Ni, Cd, Se, and Zn co-exposure and FBG levels among 1478 community-based Chinese adults from two counties with different exposure profiles and revealed a non-linear exposure-effect of Zn onFBG levels in Huayuan area.
