Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of microRNAs in human follicular fluid: characterization of microRNAs that govern steroidogenesis in vitro and are associated with polycystic ovary syndrome in vivo.
Qing Sang,Zhongyuan Yao,Huan Wang,Ruizhi Feng,Haojue Wang,Xinzhi Zhao,Xinzhi Zhao,Qinghe Xing,Qinghe Xing,Li Jin,Lin He,Lin He,Lingqian Wu,Lei Wang,Lei Wang +14 more
TL;DR: This study substantially revises the understanding of the content of human follicular fluid and lays the foundation for the future investigation of the role of miRNAs in PCOS.
Journal ArticleDOI
A common polymorphism in the human aromatase gene alters the risk for polycystic ovary syndrome and modifies aromatase activity in vitro
Hui Wang,Qiaoli Li,Qiaoli Li,Teng Wang,Guizhong Yang,Ying Wang,Xiaoping Zhang,Qing Sang,Huan Wang,Xinzhi Zhao,Xinzhi Zhao,Qinghe Xing,Qinghe Xing,Juanzi Shi,Lin He,Lin He,Lei Wang,Lei Wang +17 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the common missense polymorphism rs710059 is associated with susceptibility to PCOS and that the Arg(264)Cys variant may increase aromatase enzymatic activity, which implies that aromat enzyme plays an important role in PCOS.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative methylation level of the EPHX1 promoter in peripheral blood DNA is associated with polycystic ovary syndrome.
Qing Sang,Xin Li,Haojue Wang,Huan Wang,Shaozhen Zhang,Ruizhi Feng,Yao Xu,Qiaoli Li,Xinzhi Zhao,Qinghe Xing,Li Jin,Lin He,Lei Wang +12 more
TL;DR: Direct evidence that methylation plays an important role in PCOS is provided and a novel role for EPHX1 in female reproduction is demonstrated, and knockdown and overexpression experiments in KGN cells showed that E PHX1 can regulate estradiol concentrations, and this indicates a role in steroidogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantitative analysis of follistatin (FST) promoter methylation in peripheral blood of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome
Qing Sang,Shaozhen Zhang,Shien Zou,Huan Wang,Ruizhi Feng,Qiaoli Li,Li Jin,Lin He,Lin He,Qinghe Xing,Qinghe Xing,Lei Wang,Lei Wang +12 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates that methylation levels of CpG sites in the FST promoter and 5'-UTR are not associated with PCOS, the first study to quantitatively evaluate the methylation Levels of a candidate gene in association with PCos.
Journal ArticleDOI
Common genetic variation in the 3′-untranslated region of gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor regulates gene expression in cella and is associated with thyroid function, insulin secretion as well as insulin sensitivity in polycystic ovary syndrome patients
Qiaoli Li,Qiaoli Li,Guizhong Yang,Ying Wang,Xiaoping Zhang,Qing Sang,Huan Wang,Xinzhi Zhao,Xinzhi Zhao,Qinghe Xing,Qinghe Xing,Lin He,Lin He,Lei Wang,Lei Wang +14 more
TL;DR: Novel pathophysiological links between the GNRHR locus and thyroid function and insulin secretion in PCOS are suggested and common genetic variant in GNR HR contributes to the phenotypic expression of PCOS.
