Untersuchungen Über die Leitung und Sekretion der Assimilate

Hubert Ziegler
- 01 Aug 1956 -
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimates of nitrogen fixation by trees on an aridity gradient in Namibia.

TL;DR: N2 fixation was associated with reduced intrinsic water use efficiency and higher δ15N-values of Mimosaeae are associated with lower carbon isotope ratios (δ13C value), while the opposite trends were found in non-Mimosaceae, in which N-concentration increased with δ 15N, but δ12C was unaffected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diversity, metabolic types and δ13C carbon isotope ratios in the grass flora of Namibia in relation to growth form, precipitation and habitat conditions.

TL;DR: The grass flora of Namibia shows surprisingly little variation in δ13C values along a rainfall gradient and in different habitat conditions, however, there are significant differences in the δ 13C values between the metabolic types of the C4 photosynthetic pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adenylate Levels, Energy Charge, and Phosphorylation Potential during Dark-Light and Light-Dark Transition in Chloroplasts, Mitochondria, and Cytosol of Mesophyll Protoplasts from Avena sativa L.

TL;DR: The compartmentation of cellular energy relations during dark-light and light-dark transitions was studied by means of a newly developed technique to fractionate oat and Adenylate kinase was found to be exclusively associated with chloroplasts and mitochondria.
