Journal ArticleDOI

The use of CTAB to control the size of copper nanoparticles and the concentration of alkylthiols on their surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, a modified Brust synthesis was used to synthesize 3D self-assembled monolayers of decanethiol (SAMs) for 3D SAMs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toward Robust Macroscale Superlubricity on Engineering Steel Substrate

TL;DR: The robust superlubricating states on engineering steel-steel macroscale contact pairs are achieved with significantly reduced friction coefficient in 10-3 magnitude, extra-long antiwear life (more than 1.0 × 106 laps), and good universality to wide range of materials and loads, which can be of significance for the industrialization of "structuralsuperlubricity".
Journal ArticleDOI

Cavitation erosion of several oxy-fuel sprayed coatings tested in deionized water and artificial seawater

TL;DR: In this paper, the cavitation erosion behavior of five kinds of HVOF-sprayed coatings and three kinds of alloys (316 stainless steel, TC4 titanium alloy and ZL101 aluminum alloy) in both deionized water and artificial seawater was evaluated according to ASTM standard method G 32-10.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative study of the friction and wear behavior of plasma sprayed conventional and nanostructured WC–12%Co coatings on stainless steel

TL;DR: In this article, both the conventional and nanostructured WC-12%Co coatings were analyzed by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive Xray analysis (EDXA).
Journal ArticleDOI

Phase composition and tribological properties of Ti–Al coatings produced on pure Ti by laser cladding

TL;DR: In this article, the laser cladding Ti-Al coatings were analyzed with X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Xray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and it was found that with the increase of Al content, the diffraction peaks shifted gradually to higher 2 θ values.
