Journal ArticleDOI
Gastric leaks after sleeve gastrectomy: a multicenter experience with 2,834 patients.
Nasser Sakran,David Goitein,David Goitein,Asnat Raziel,Andrei Keidar,Nahum Beglaibter,Ronit Grinbaum,Ibrahim Matter,Ricardo Alfici,Ricardo Alfici,Ahmad Mahajna,Ahmad Mahajna,Igor Waksman,Mordechai Shimonov,Mordechai Shimonov,Ahmad Assalia,Ahmad Assalia +16 more
TL;DR: Gastric leak is the most common cause of major morbidity and mortality after LSG, and routine tests to rule out leaks seem to be superfluous.
Journal ArticleDOI
Filtered signal-averaged P-wave duration during pneumoperitoneum in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A reflection of pathophysiological cardiac changes
TL;DR: Its prolongation during PP may reflect some cardiac pathophysiological changes, including influence on cardiac ion channels during depolarization, and clinical awareness should be maintained for cardiac diseased patients undergoing prolonged laparoscopic procedures.
Gastric Leaks Following Sleeve Gastrectomy: A Multicenter Experience with 2834 Patients
Nasser Sakran,David Goitein,Asnat Raziel,Andrei Keidar,Nahum Beglaibter,Ronit Grinbaum,Ibrahim Matter,Ricardo Alfici,Ahmad Mahajna,Igor Waksman,Mordechai Shimonov,Ahmad Assalia +11 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Challenges in abdominal re-exploration for war casualties following on-site abdominal trauma surgery and subsequent delayed arrival to definitive medical care abroad – an unusual scenario
Amitai Bickel,Konstantin Akinichev,Michael Weiss,Samer Ganam,Seema Biswas,Igor Waksman,Eli Kakiashvilli +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors present an approach to abdominal trauma patients who survived initial on-site surgery and needed subsequent abdominal re-exploration abroad, in our medical center, in order to reveal diverse multi-organ trauma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Designing Engineering Solutions to Surgical Problems: How to Translate Physiology to Biomechanics
O. Braun Benyamin,David Juvinao,Tzach Berlinsky,Adham Salih,Evgeny Solomonov,Igor Waksman,Seema Biswas +6 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors described the progress through a mechanical engineering course where physiological processes become translated into biomechanical work, and illustrated the process of teaching and learning as both teachers and students brought the worlds of medicine and engineering together to develop an understanding essential to the simulation of biology in machines.
