Journal ArticleDOI
Emissions characteristics of spark ignition engine operating on lower–higher molecular mass alcohol blended gasoline fuels
Ioannis Gravalos,Dimitrios Moshou,T. Gialamas,Panagiotis Xyradakis,Dimitrios Kateris,Z. Tsiropoulos +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental investigation of emissions characteristics of lower-higher molecular mass alcohol blended gasoline fuels is presented, and the results indicate that CO and HC levels in the engine exhaust are reduced with the operation on alcohol gasoline blends.
Journal ArticleDOI
A machine learning approach for the condition monitoring of rotating machinery
Dimitrios Kateris,Dimitrios Moshou,Xanthoula Eirini Pantazi,Ioannis Gravalos,Nader Sawalhi,S. Loutridis +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the architecture of a diagnostic system for extended faults in bearings based on neural networks, where the multilayer perceptron (MLP) with Bayesian automatic relevance determination was applied in the classification of accelerometer data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Water stress detection based on optical multisensor fusion with a least squares support vector machine classifier
TL;DR: In this article, an optical multisensor system that can detect and identify biotic and abiotic stresses was developed to optically discriminate between healthy and water stressed wheat canopies.
Journal ArticleDOI
An Experimental Determination of Gross Calorific Value of Different Agroforestry Species and Bio-Based Industry Residues
Ioannis Gravalos,Panagiotis Xyradakis,Dimitrios Kateris,Theodoros Gialamas,D. Bartzialis,K. D. Giannoulis +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors determined experimentally the gross calorific value (GCV) of different agroforestry species and bio-based industry residues that could be used by companies specialized in processing raw biomass solid biofuel production, and small-scale consumers (households, medium-sized residential buildings, etc.).
Book ChapterDOI
Performance and Emission Characteristics of Spark Ignition Engine Fuelled with Ethanol and Methanol Gasoline Blended Fuels
Ioannis Gravalos,Dimitrios Moshou,Theodoros Gialamas,Panagiotis Xyradakis,Dimitrios Kateris,Z. Tsiropoulos +5 more
TL;DR: The potential for ethanol production is equivalent to about 32% of the total gasoline consumption worldwide, when used in E85 (85% ethanol in gasoline) for a midsize passenger vehicle.
