Complete replacement of the ascending aorta with reimplantation of the coronary arteries: new surgical approach.

TL;DR: The technical modifications utilized in this series have simplified the operation and permit the proposal of this technique for aneurysm involving the entire ascending aorta.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pacemaker infective endocarditis.

TL;DR: Overall mortality was 24% after a mean follow-up period of 22 +/- 4 months (range 1 to 88) and eight patients who were significantly older (74 +/- 3 vs 63 +/- 3 years; p = 0.05) died < or = 2 months after electrode removal, whereas 25 were alive and asymptomatic.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term results with total replacement of the ascending aorta and reimplantation of the coronary arteries.

TL;DR: The treatment of aortic insufficiency associated with an aneurysm of the ascending aorta by insertion of a composite graft and reimplantation of the coronary arteries through an intermediate Dacron tube is a reliable method with low mortality and excellent long-term results.
Journal ArticleDOI

Emergency feasibility in medical intensive care unit of extracorporeal life support for refractory cardiac arrest.

TL;DR: Emergency ECLS is feasible in medical ICU and should be considered as a resuscitative tool for patients suffering from refractory cardiac arrest and significantly lower ICU mortality rate than that expected from the Simplified Acute Physiology Score II and the maximum Sequential Organ Failure Assessment score.
