TL;DR: It is found that patients with a new primary diagnosis of AF discharged home from their emergency department visit suffered fewer deaths, strokes, and major bleeds during 1-year follow-up when managed under cardiology care compared to care provided by non-cardiologists.

TL;DR: Real time 3-D echocardiography was used to study the association between CKD and LA volume and function in 358 patients from a community-based cohort study without overt cardiac disease, showing that patients with CKD have altered LA function and LA enlargement compared with risk factor-matched control subjects and healthy subjects.
