Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Noninvasive Ventilation on Lung Volumes and Maximum Respiratory Pressures in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Dante Brasil Santos,Dante Brasil Santos,Isabelle Vaugier,Ghilas Boussaïd,David Orlikowski,Hélène Prigent,Frédéric Lofaso +6 more
TL;DR: Introducing NIV in subjects with DMD was followed by slowing of the declines in VC and in maximum static inspiratory and expiratory pressures, and NIV had no effect on sniff nasal inspiratory pressure.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optoelectronic Vital Capacity Measurement for Restrictive Diseases
J. Boudarham,Didier Pradon,Hélène Prigent,Isabelle Vaugier,Frédéric Barbot,Nadège Letilly,Line Falaize,David Orlikowski,Michel Petitjean,Frédéric Lofaso +9 more
TL;DR: Optoelectronic plethysmography is accurate and suitable for VC measurement in patients with various degrees of respiratory failure, including those with paradoxical abdominal movements, and may be an attractive alternative for accurately measuring VC in the event of air leakage or when patients are unable to breathe with the dead space added by the spirometer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of Combined Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation and Speech-language Therapy on Spontaneous Speech in Aphasia: A Randomized Controlled Double-blind Study.
Elodie Guillouet,Mélanie Cogné,Elisabeth Saverot,Nicolas Roche,Pascale Pradat-Diehl,A. Weill-Chounlamountry,Vanessa Ramel,Catherine Taratte,Anne-Gaëlle Lachasse,Jean-Arthur Haulot,Isabelle Vaugier,Frédéric Barbot,Philippe Azouvi,Sophie Charveriat +13 more
TL;DR: The results differed from previous studies using tDCS to improve naming in patients with poststroke aphasia possibly due to bihemispheric stimulation, rarely used previously.
Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation Improves Breathing-Swallowing Interaction of Ventilator Dependent Neuromuscular Patients: A Prospective Crossover Study
Marine Garguilo,M. Lejaille,Isabelle Vaugier,David Orlikowski,Nicolas Terzi,Frédéric Lofaso,Hélène Prigent +6 more
TL;DR: The use of patient controlled NIV improves swallowing parameters in patients with severe neuromuscular respiratory failure requiring daytime NIV, without impairing swallowing comfort.
Journal ArticleDOI
Accuracy of tidal volume delivered by home mechanical ventilation during mouthpiece ventilation: A bench evaluation.
Adam Ogna,Hélène Prigent,L. Falaize,Karl Leroux,Dante Brasil Santos,Isabelle Vaugier,David Orlikowski,Frédéric Lofaso +7 more
TL;DR: The authors' data show large differences in the capacity of the different ventilators to deal with the rapidly changing respiratory load features that characterize MPV, which can be further accentuated according to the used ventilator setting.
