A pooled testing strategy for identifying SARS-CoV-2 at low prevalence.
Leon Mutesa,Pacifique Ndishimye,Yvan Butera,Jacob Souopgui,Jacob Souopgui,Annette Uwineza,Robert Rutayisire,Ella Larissa Ndoricimpaye,Emile Musoni,Nadine Rujeni,Thierry Nyatanyi,Edouard Ntagwabira,Muhammed Semakula,Clarisse Musanabaganwa,Daniel Nyamwasa,Maurice Ndashimye,Eva Ujeneza,Ivan Emile Mwikarago,Claude Mambo Muvunyi,Jean Baptiste Mazarati,Sabin Nsanzimana,Neil Turok,Neil Turok,Neil Turok,Wilfred Ndifon +24 more
TL;DR: An algorithm for pooling subsamples based on the geometry of a hypercube that, at low prevalence, accurately identifies individuals infected with SARS-CoV-2 in a small number of tests and few rounds of testing is proposed.

A strategy for finding people infected with SARS-CoV-2: optimizing pooled testing at low prevalence
Leon Mutesa,Pacifique Ndishimye,Yvan Butera,Jacob Souopgui,Jacob Souopgui,Annette Uwineza,Robert Rutayisire,Emile Musoni,Nadine Rujeni,Thierry Nyatanyi,Edouard Ntagwabira,Muhammed Semakula,Clarisse Musanabaganwa,Daniel Nyamwasa,Maurice Ndashimye,Eva Ujeneza,Ivan Emile Mwikarago,Claude Mambo Muvunyi,Jean Baptiste Mazarati,Sabin Nsanzimana,Neil Turok,Neil Turok,Wilfred Ndifon +22 more
TL;DR: This work presents an approach to pooled testing, based on the geometry of a hypercube, which enables fast, cost-effective identification of infected people when the prevalence of the virus is low.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed an algorithm for grouping subsamples, prior to testing, based on the geometry of a hypercube, to identify infected individuals in a small number of tests.

Mutation Landscape of SARS COV2 in Africa
TL;DR: In this article, the role of SARS CoV2 mutations on COVID-19 disease in Africa was analyzed using 282 complete nucleotide sequences from African isolates deposited in the NCBI Virus Database.

Prevalence of bovine tuberculosis and characterization of the members of the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex from slaughtered cattle in Rwanda
Jean Bosco Ntivuguruzwa,Jean Bosco Ntivuguruzwa,Anita Luise Michel,Francis Babaman Kolo,Ivan Emile Mwikarago,Jean Claude Semuto Ngabonziza,Henriette VanHeerden +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a cross-sectional study employing a systematic random sampling of cattle with the collection of retropharyngeal lymph nodes and tonsils (n=300) irrespective of granulomatous lesions was carried out in six abattoirs to investigate the prevalence and identify mycobacterial species using culture, acid-fast bacteria staining, polymerase chain reaction, and GeneXpert assay.
