Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant principles from Bauhinia tarapotensis.

TL;DR: A new cyclohexenone and a new caffeoyl ester derivative are reported, together with the known compounds (-)-isolariciresinol 3-alpha-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside, which were isolated from the leaves of Bauhinia tarapotensis by spectroscopic data analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of flavonoids of Sechium edule (Jacq) Swartz (Cucurbitaceae) different edible organs by liquid chromatography photodiode array mass spectrometry.

TL;DR: A liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based method was developed for the characterization of flavonoids from Sechium edule (Jacq) Swartz (Cucurbitaceae) edible organs, a plant cultivated since pre-Colombian times in Mexico where the fruit is called chayote.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant and free-radical scavenging activity of constituents of the leaves of Tachigalia paniculata.

TL;DR: Two new myricetin glycosides are isolated from the leaves of Tachigalia paniculata by measuring free-radical scavenging effects using three different assays, namely, the Trolox Equivalent Antioxidant Capacity (TEAC) assay, the coupled oxidation of beta-carotene and linoleic acid (autoxidation assay), and the inhibition of xanthine oxidase activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure and absolute configuration of new diterpenes from Lavandula multifida.

TL;DR: Four new diterpenes have been isolated from the aerial parts of Lavandula multifida and the absolute configuration of the 15,16-diol moiety was determined observing the circular dichroism induced after addition of dimolybdenum tetracetate in DMSO solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

New prenylated anthraquinones and xanthones from Vismia guineensis.

TL;DR: From the roots of Vismia guineensis 23 structurally related compounds were isolated and identified and their structures were established by means of EIMS and a combination of homonuclear and heteronuclear 2D NMR techniques.
