Journal ArticleDOI
Charge symmetry, quarks and mesons
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reviewed the data and theory relevant to understand charge symmetry breaking in hadronic mass spittings, interactions and decay rates; nucleon-nucleon interactions; nuclear reactions; and binding energies of mirror nuclei.
Journal ArticleDOI
pi N ---> eta N and eta N ---> eta N partial wave T matrices in a coupled, three channel model
TL;DR: In this paper, a multiresonance coupled channel model is introduced which significantly improves the agreement with all input data, and a model containing a single resonance in each of the three partial waves that dominates the eta production at lower energies is compared with previous analyses, based on similar assumptions.
Journal ArticleDOI
{pi}{ital N}{r_arrow}{eta}{ital N} and {eta}{ital N}{r_arrow}{eta}{ital N} partial-wave {ital T} matrices in a coupled, three-channel model
TL;DR: In this article, a multiresonance coupled-channel model is introduced which significantly improves the agreement with all input data, including the weighted data base of the {pi}{ital N} elastic phase shifts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Measurement of the neutron-neutron scattering length using the π − d capture reaction
Q. Chen,C. R. Howell,T. S. Carman,W. R. Gibbs,B.F. Gibson,Ahmed Hussein,M.R. Kiser,G. Mertens,C. F. Moore,Christopher Morris,A. Obst,E. Pasyuk,C. D. Roper,F. Salinas,H. R. Setze,Ivo Šlaus,S. M. Sterbenz,Werner Tornow,R. L. Walter,C. R. Whiteley,M. Whitton +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors determined a value for the {sup 1}S{sub 0} neutron-neutron scattering length (a{sub nn}) from high-precision measurements of time-of-flight spectra of neutrons from the π n capture reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neutron-neutron effective range parameters
TL;DR: In this paper, a comprehensive review of information on the neutron-neutron effective range parameters in the 1S0 state is presented, and the authors show that the semi-phenomenological Fujita-Mayazawa three-nucleation force can explain these discrepancies as well as the discrepancy between anm obtained from pickup and knockon D(n, nm)p processes.
