Journal ArticleDOI

Carrier assisted radiative recombination of free excitons in GaSe

TL;DR: In this article, a line shape analysis of the GaSe spectrum at high excitation intensities is presented, where the spectrum becomes dominated by recombination of an exciton-carrier complex.
Journal ArticleDOI

‘Hot phonon’ contribution to Urbach's tails in semiconductors

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered electron-hole recombination in semiconductors under high injection levels of electrons and holes interacting with hot LO-phonons and showed that the increasing value of E 0, an energy parameter which characterizes the exponential low energy edge in the luminescence spectra, with laser light intensity is the result of the increasing concentration of phonons in excess of equilibrium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dependence of photoluminescence on hot excitations

TL;DR: In this paper, the high energy tail of the photoluminescence spectra of CdS in conditions of high photoexcitation intensities is studied and it is shown that the increasing excitation is a result of the simultaneous effect of non-equilibrium distribution of electrons and LO-phonons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical-bond approach to the dielectric constant of Se and Te

TL;DR: In this article, the NRW method was extended to non-tetrahedral semiconductors by using the Kramers-Kronig relation as a function of the zeroth and first moments of e 2 (ω).
