Combustion synthesis of fine-particle metal aluminates

TL;DR: In this paper, the surface areas of the as-prepared metal aluminates using carbohydrazide fuel were higher compared with urea (1 to 20 $m^2g^{-1}$).
Journal ArticleDOI

Combustion synthesis of fine particle rare earth orthoaluminates and yttrium aluminum garnet

TL;DR: In this paper, a novel combustion process using corresponding rare earth nitrate, aluminum nitrate and urea/carbohydrazide mixtures was described, and a saturated aqueous solution of the mixture when rapidly heated at 500°C foams and ignites to yield voluminous, crystalline single phase rare earth orthoaluminates.
