Experimental investigation and theoretical modeling of liquid entrainment in a horizontal tee with a vertical-up branch

TL;DR: In this article, a comprehensive literature review of liquid entrainment in horizontal pipes with vertical-up branches is presented, and a model for predicting the onset and steady-state entraining rate is developed to predict branch quality at high liquid flow rates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical studies on the design criteria of double-sensor probe for the measurement of bubble velocity

TL;DR: In this article, the design criteria and the theoretical calibration factor of a double-sensor probe for the measurement of bubble velocity in two-phase flows were studied, and it was discovered analytically that the measurable velocity might approach infinity if the probe spacing is too small compared to the bubble size.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Liquid Entrainment at Tee Junction With Upward Oriented Vertical Branch

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated liquid entrainment in tee junctions with an upward oriented vertical branch and found that the new correlations demonstrated a marked improvement, and theoretical analysis was carried out for the development of a new entraining onset criterion and an entraining rate model.
