Liquid crystal light valve using bulk mono-crystalline Bi12SiO20 as the photoconductive material

TL;DR: In this paper, a light valve with a source whose output wavelength corresponds to the optimum spectral sensitivity range of the photoconductive BSO (λw≃450 nm) was obtained with a readout beam with crossed polarizers, and the behavior of the light valve under ac voltage operation was explained in terms of space charge limited currents through the BSO.
