Microstructural transformation of a rail surface induced by severe thermoplastic deformation and its non-destructive monitoring via Barkhausen noise

TL;DR: In this article, a rail cyclically loaded during 20 years of traffic was examined by combination of several non-destructive techniques with high sensitivity to surface damage, namely positron annihilation spectroscopy, X-ray line profile analysis and magnetic Barkhausen noise.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of Sample Size and Magnetizing Voltage on Barkhausen Noise during Bending and Uniaxial Tensile Tests

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of sample thickness and magnetizing voltage on the Barkhausen noise emission during bending as well as uniaxial tensile tests has been investigated, and it has been shown that the noise increases with increasing tensile stresses, especially for the higher magnetizing fields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analysis of Structure Transformations in Rail Surface Induced by Plastic Deformation via Barkhausen Noise Emission

TL;DR: In this article, Neslušana et al. analyzed the structure transformations in rail surface induced by plastic deformation via Barkhausen Noise Emission in the Czech Republic.
