Journal ArticleDOI

Equilibrium acidities of superacids.

TL;DR: The current scale is complementary to the well-known H(0) scale in the information that it provides and is expected to be a useful tool in design, use, and further acidity measurements of superacidic molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the Basicity of Organic Bases in Different Media

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a method to detect the presence of aniline in the human body and to identify the most likely source of such anisotropic molecules, which can be used as a biomarker for cancer.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acidities of strong neutral Brønsted acids in different media

TL;DR: In this article, the acidity of different families of acids is examined in media of different physical and chemical nature: water, acetonitrile (AN), 1,2-dichloroethane (DCE), and the gas phase, with special emphasis on strong acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Basicity Limits of Neutral Organic Superbases

TL;DR: The potential limits of superbasicity achievable with different families of neutral bases by expanding the molecular framework are explored using DFT computations and some of the considered bases are expected to reach gas-phase basicity around 370 kcal mol(-1), thus being the most basic neutral bases ever reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Basicity of Phosphanes and Diphosphanes in Acetonitrile

TL;DR: In this article, the basicity of mono-and diphosphanes in acetonitrile was analyzed and compared with that of amines of similar structure, and it was shown that a remarkably stronger change in basicity can be observed in the amines in comparison with the phosphanes when alkyl groups are replaced by aryl groups.
