Reliability of measures to characterize lumbar movement patterns, in repeated seated reaching, in a mixed group of participants with and without low-back pain: A test-retest, within- and between session.

TL;DR: In this article, an optical motion capture system recorded positions of cluster markers, located on the spinous processes of S1 and T8, which were characterized by the spatial variability of the lumbar Euler angles: flexion-extension, lateral bending, axial rotation, temporal variability (CyclSD) and local dynamic stability (LDE).
Book ChapterDOI

Neck postural stabilization, motion comfort, and impact simulation

TL;DR: Experimental and modeling efforts are presented, applying mechanical perturbations to seated subjects, evaluating trunk and head motion, to investigate postural stabilization, and a detailed multisegment neck model has been developed including vestibular/visual and muscular feedback loops and cocontraction is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI

The relationship between relative aerobic load, energy cost, and speed of walking in individuals post-stroke.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the impact of aerobic capacity and aerobic load of walking on walking ability post-stroke and found that more and less impaired individuals had lower preferred walking speed (PWS) than able-bodied controls.
