Journal ArticleDOI

[Study of the common degradative pathway of hexuronates in Escherichia coli K 12. Purification, properties and individuality of 2-keto-3-deoxy-D-gluconnokinase].

TL;DR: In this article, the KDG-kinase was shown to be controlled by a single structural gene, which was based on the following arguments: First, the mixture of purified kinase fractions from cells, which were separately induced by each hexuronate, is chromatographically not dissociable.
Journal ArticleDOI

A transport system for 2-keto-3-deoxy-D-gluconate uptake in Escherichia coli K12. Biochemical and physiological studies in whole cells.

TL;DR: It was led to demonstrate that d-glucuronate could be taken up through both its own specific system with high affinity and through the 2-keto-3-deoxy-d-gluconatespecific system with lower affinity.
Journal ArticleDOI

[Map location of 2-keto-3-deoxy-6-P-gluconate aldolase negative mutations in E. coli K12].

TL;DR: The locus (“eda”) of these negative mutations between his and old D is mapped and the relationship of this locus eda with a structural gene for aldolase is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Système de transport du 2-céto-3-désoxy-gluconate chez E. coli K12: localisation d'un gène de structure et de son opérateur

TL;DR: It is suggested that the constitutive (kdg Pc) and negative ( kdg T−) mutations, which have been found to be strongly linked, affect respectively the operator site and a structural gene needed for the KDG transport system.
