Journal ArticleDOI

Silicon carbide-free graphene growth on silicon for lithium-ion battery with high volumetric energy density

TL;DR: Direct graphene growth over silicon nanoparticles without silicon carbide formation is reported, suggesting that two-dimensional layered structure of graphene and its siliconcarbide-free integration with silicon can serve as a prototype in advancing silicon anodes to commercially viable technology.
Journal ArticleDOI

Discovery of abnormal lithium-storage sites in molybdenum dioxide electrodes

TL;DR: Insight into the electrochemical results, obtained by in situ X-ray absorption, scanning transmission electron microscopy analysis combined with electron energy loss spectroscopy and computational modelling indicates that the nanoscale pore engineering of this transition metal oxide enables an unexpected electrochemical mass storage mechanism, and may provide a strategy for the design of cation storage materials for battery systems.
Patent

Electrode for photoelectric conversion device containing metal element and dye-sensitized solar cell using the same

TL;DR: An electrode for a photoelectric conversion device includes a transparent substrate and a transparent conductive film, in which the transparent substrate contains an added metal element on at least one surface thereof.
Patent

Electrode for secondary battery, manufacturing method thereof and secondary battery employing the same

TL;DR: In this article, an electrode for a secondary battery employing an active material layer having improved thickness uniformity by printing low-viscosity ink on the active material, and a manufacturing method of the electrode, was presented.
Patent

Electrolyte composition for dye-sensitized solar cell, dye-sensitized solar cell including same, and method of preparing same

TL;DR: An electrolyte composition for a dye-sensitized solar cell according to one embodiment includes a first polymer or a non-volatile liquid compound having a weight average molecular weight of less than or equal to 500, a second polymer having a weighted sum of molecular weights of more than and equal to 2000, inorganic nano-particles, and a redox derivative as discussed by the authors.
