Hydrolytic degradation of PLLA/PCL microporous membranes prepared by freeze extraction
Luis A. Gaona,Luis A. Gaona,J.L. Gómez Ribelles,Jairo Ernesto Perilla Perilla,Myriam Lebourg +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the degradation of poly( l -lactic acid) and poly(e-caprolactone) blends (PLLA/PCL) porous membranes were prepared by freeze extraction with ratios 100/0, 80/20, 60/40, 40/60, 20/80, 0/100 in weight.
Journal ArticleDOI
Encapsulated betalains (Opuntia ficus-indica) as natural colorants. Case study: Gummy candies
María Carolina Otálora,Helber Barbosa,Jairo Ernesto Perilla Perilla,Coralia Osorio,Mónica A. Nazareno +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, a factorial design with two types of gelatin (GA and GB) and five betalain-rich capsules/gelatin (BC/G) ratios (from 70/30 to 30/70) was used to study the rheological and morphological properties of gummy candies.
Journal ArticleDOI
New porous polycaprolactone-silica composites for bone regeneration.
Clara Eugenia Plazas Bonilla,Clara Eugenia Plazas Bonilla,Sara Trujillo,Bermali Demirdögen,Jairo Ernesto Perilla Perilla,Y. Murat Elçin,José Luis Gómez Ribelles +6 more
TL;DR: Polycaprolactone/silica composites revealed a superior bioactivity performance compared with that of the pure polymer; evidenced by the characteristic cauliflower structures on the material surface, increase in weight and Ca/P ratio of the hydroxyapatite layer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Colloidal and spherical mesoporous silica particles: synthesis and new technologies for delivery applications
TL;DR: A review of mesoporous materials can be found in this paper, where the authors provide a useful guide for different materials, methods and configurations that have been reported in the last 5 years for the synthesis of spherical MSP, in the colloidal size range (1-1000nm).
Journal ArticleDOI
Silica coating of the pore walls of a microporous polycaprolactone membrane to be used in bone tissue engineering
Bermali Demirdögen,C. E. Plazas Bonilla,Sara Trujillo,Jairo Ernesto Perilla Perilla,Ayşe Eser Elçin,Yaşar Murat Elçin,J.L. Gómez Ribelles +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that silica forms a thin coating layer homogeneously distributed over the pore walls when sol-gel reaction is catalyzed by hydrochloric acid, while it forms submicron spherical particles when using basic catalyzer.
