Separate Neural Mechanisms Underlie Choices and Strategic Preferences in Risky Decision Making

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI) to identify brain regions that predict specific choices from those predicting an individual's preferred strategy, and found that choices that followed a simplifying strategy (i.e., attending to overall probability of winning) were associated with activation in parietal and lateral prefrontal cortices.

TL;DR: In this paper, the major predictors of infidelity can be categorized into three groups: relational, individual, and situational/contextual, and the authors define infidelity as a sexual and/or emotional act engaged in by one person within a committed relationship, where such an act occurs outside of the primary relationship and constitutes a breach of trust and violation of agreed upon norms.

Hope, Pride, and Processing During Optimal and Nonoptimal Times of Day

TL;DR: In this article, the conditions under which the distinct positive emotions of hope versus pride facilitate more or less fluid cognitive processing were examined, and it was shown that specific positive emotions are more likely to influence processing and behavior during non-optimal times of day, when association-based processing is more likely.
