Journal ArticleDOI

The Upsilon spectrum and the determination of the lattice spacing from lattice QCD including charm quarks in the sea

TL;DR: In this article, the lattice spacing was determined using the 2 S 1S splitting and the 3 S 2S splitting, and the results were improved to 1.4% and 2.5% using the Highly Improved Staggered Quark action.
Journal ArticleDOI

External Potential Modifies Friction of Molecular Solutes in Water

TL;DR: In this paper, a method to extract the friction memory function from molecular dynamics simulations was proposed, and it was shown that the solvent friction of a strongly harmonically confined methane molecule in water increases by 60% compared to its free-solution value, which is caused by an amplification of the slowest component of the memory function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Butane dihedral angle dynamics in water is dominated by internal friction.

TL;DR: A method to directly extract the friction memory function from unconstrained simulations in the presence of an arbitrary free-energy landscape is introduced and it is shown that ∼89% of the total friction cannot be described as solvent friction and is caused by degrees of freedom that are orthogonal to the dihedral reaction coordinate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lattice investigation of the scalar mesons a_0(980) and \kappa\ using four-quark operators

TL;DR: In this article, an exploratory study of the isospin one a0(980) and the isspin one-half kappa scalar mesons was carried out using Nf=2+1+1 Wilson twisted mass fermions at one lattice spacing.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lattice investigation of the scalar mesons a 0(980) and κ using four-quark operators

TL;DR: In this paper, an exploratory study of the isospin one a0(980) and the isspin one-half κ scalar mesons using Nf = 2 + 1+1 + 1 Wilson twisted mass fermions at one lattice spacing is carried out.
